As we enter February it’s a good time to reflect on everything book related that happened in January. Last month, there were just four books on my list to read, this month there are eleven. Last month I hadn’t read any books, now I have read three. I am also currently reading one book (and working my way through The Daily Stoic).

Last week, I attended a Guardian Live Book Club with George Saunders. I’ll confess, I hadn’t heard of him until I saw the event. I bought the book Lincoln in the Bardo and started reading shortly before the book club meeting. The event itself was brilliant, with George an absolute delight to listen to. I will write more about this when I write the review of the book next week.

In February, there is a Guardian Live book club with Margaret Atwood, so I’m really looking forward to that one. I find her work both interesting and bizarre. However, the reviews I have read about Oryx and Crake haven’t been all that glowing, nevertheless I am still looking forward to reading it.

In January I read:

  1. All the Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson — Read the review
  2. Love After Love by Alex Hourston — Read the review
  3. Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders

In February I want to read:

  1. Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
  2. Untamed by Glennon Doyle
  3. The Twitch by Kevin Parr

Tell me about the books you read in January.
